Mosaic:)

During the last two weeks, we've been working on mosaic's:). Mosaic's are pictures that are made up of smaller pictures. The design I choose was a star, a star is simple so making a mosaic of it will hopefully be easy..:) I've enjoyed this so far because i think it's interesting how smalll pictures can make up bigger pictures. My friends are making things a little more complicated than me.Like my friend Maria is making an apple with a smiley face on it.It would take me a LONG time to do that & i would not have the patiance to do that.:(

Portraits

In class we made/took pictures of people, this is also known as portraits. Before photography, portraits were the only way to see a picture. When photography was invented artist who made portraits were very puzzled. During this lesson I learned that there is so much more to pictures and portraits than we imagine, for example there is the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds helps create a focus in the picture, also when you take a portrait you should use light to make your picture even better.:)As a project, we went outside and took portraits of people with the sun shining over them and on either side of them.

Claymation!!!

The art of Claymation is soooo much fun!!! It reminds me of how they make animation movies. Animation was always my favorite when I was around 8 and 9 years old.The cartoon Wallace & Gromitt is an example of claymation which became popular on TV a couple years back. All the characters were made from moulded Plasticine modelling clay on wire frames, and filmed with stop motion animation. This process is sometimes known as "claymation", although this term was trademarked by Will Vinton Studios and is properly applied only to works generated there.
I think claymation might be something my cousin would be intrested in, I myself don't think I would be able to because it requieres practical skills which I don't have. An example of this would be, good use of angle, and the ability to create a story from                                                                                      These were two Photos I took of myclaymation  charector

History of Photography

It was sooo much fun learning about diffrent photographers! Robert Maddox helped make the proccess of developing pictures faster.... Also Niepce was the person who "invented" true photography.. these were only 2 of my favs!!!!!:)

The picture that looks messed up... thats the pinhole pic                                    I  I think it cam out like that because we let too much light in. :(

Pinhole Cam's

In class we made awesome cameras, this is how I made mine:
1.       You get an empty pringles can, and you make sure it’s clean.
2.       You spray paint the inside so it is completely black(the inside needs to be black so that the light does not trespass and the photos don’t come out blurry)
3.        You create a hole inside of the camera and add additional pieces (strips of cardboard, top and bottom; cardboard shutter).
4.       Cut out metal piece of metal (ex. Coke can) and smooth it out with sand paper.
5.       Once you smooth it out you make a tiny whole in the piece of metal & glue it onto the hole on the pringles can so only a slight bit of light is coming into the camera.
The shutter on the camera is used to block the light from the camera; with this camera we took pinhole pictures, in black and white.

A little about myself :)

Hey! My name is Patricia, I’m the type of person who loves to help, and I also have a passion for music and arts. I’m in 2nd period photography class, I enjoy seeing people’s expression when you take a photo, it helps you understand the way they were feeling  and it’s also just a great way to have fun!:)
